We will provide you with the latest news and updates about Prusa ConnectOur network solution for remote 3D printer control. You might be surprised at the number of features that are already available. We will also share with you our plans for the near future. So, let’s get started!
Print from anywhere!
Just in case you’ve never heard of Prusa Connect – it’s our web service, that You can manage your 3D Printers from anywhere. This includes uploading print jobs, controlling and monitoring several printers at the same time, monitoring a printjob’s status using cameras, tracking the printing history, and detailed printer stats, including filament consumption. There are already a number of features implemented. There are many more.We have a pipeline of products! 🙂
You can schedule print jobs on each printer using its print queue
Prusa connect can be used to print with any number. From a single machine up to a full print farm. Each printer registered with you has a print-queue that can be filled up with the desired print files. This means that if you’re printing a larger project, you can prepare and send all the G-codes to the printer at once. Once a print job has been completed, you can harvest the model and confirm that the printer is ready to accept the next job. The print queue shows a timeline of when each print is completed so you can easily keep track on your printing status across all printers.
You can also adjust your 3D printer’s settings remotely. This includes starting a homing procedure and adjusting speeds and temperatures, moving the extruder with any axis or disabling the motors.
In the printer’s dashboard, you’ll find all the important data, including the latest snapshot from the camera
You can click the buttons in the printer’s header to quickly set temperatures, change the filament, etc.
Working with files
Uploading new print files to Prusa Connect is easy using Drag and drop or directly from PrusaSlicerBoth options allow you to print the file immediately after uploading it, add it to the print queue or store it in cloud storage to print later.
The implementation of ArcWelder G-code streaming and a new binary format for G-code in firmware and PrusaSlicer, the print can be started much faster, and you don’t even have to wait for the upload to finish! Prusa connect allows you to begin the print. Within a few secondsThe upload starts immediately. This is particularly useful for large files where you don’t have to wait for a long time to upload the file to check when the printing process starts. Find out more about these amazing features, and other updates, in our Prusa Autumn Summary article.
You can monitor your entire print farm in several different ways.
All files stored on the cloud storage of Prusa Connect can be handled in the same way as in a regular file managerThe web interface allows you to print files stored on the printer’s SD card or USB flash drive. Files stored on the printer’s SD card or USB flash drive can be printed from the web interface as well.
You can view the print queues for all of your printers simultaneously
Security
We take a look at We take the security of all your files and data extremely seriously. When you upload to Prusa Connect a file, you only upload a G-code, and no model source files, so nobody has access to the original 3D models. Your print files will only be shared with your team members, according to their roles and rights.
We use Prusa Connect for the telemetry and command communications between the printers and Prusa Connect. TLS1.2 security protocol using elliptic curve cryptography (ECC).. This method offers great cryptography strength compared to RSA encryption, while it’s much faster and memory-efficient (The ECC 256-bit key offers the same strength as the RSA 3072-bit key), so it’s a commonly used standard, especially in embedded systems.
We also support a browser login procedure. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)To ensure the best security for your account. If you haven’t yet enabled 2FA, we strongly suggest turning it on.
If you have any concerns regarding the security of your data, regardless of the features in Prusa Connect you can use the PrusaLink interface. Your files and data will be stored locally on the printer. never leave your local networkPrusa Connect can only be used for Remote monitoringUse it or not at all
User Teams
You can easily manage the roles in your classroom or work team with Prusa Connect. You can create multiple teams, invite new members, and more. Set your access rights. If you are a Classroom of students and you want them to be able only to check the status of the printer without the ability to control it, it’s a matter of just a few mouse clicks.
You can create as many teams as desired.
You can have as many teams as you want, so don’t hesitate to use their potential and create, for example, One team for the family and another one for work or school
Invite new team member and manage their rights to shared printers
OTA (Over-the-Air) firmware updates
Prusa Connect checks the printer’s firmware version and You can update your device remotelyIf a newer version of the printer is available, you can update it. It’s a handy feature, which helps you keep your printer up to date. 🙂You can also upload firmware files or flash different versions of firmware using drag and drops. We have been asked many times to support OTA firmware updates, and now we can! You can use this on all of our printers which are using native PrusaLink. You can use it on all our printers that are using native PrusaLink. MINI/MINI+ and the XL.
You’ll be notified when a new firmware version becomes available
Connect the cameras!
Prusa Connect lets you remotely check the status a print job by using one or multiple cameras. No more running toward the printer every two or three minutes, just to check if the print continues without any issues, or if you’ve begun the creation of a spaghetti monster. The print job can be stopped at any time, from anywhere. This is particularly useful for long prints, and can save you a large amount of filament. 😉
We came up with a few ways to add camera support. There are more than 400,000 Original Prusa Printers in the wild. Some of the solutions are already operational, while others still need to be worked on. In addition, printers using a Raspberry Pi with PrusaLink are able to use a Raspberry Pi Camera.
Use an old smartphone as a digital camera
You can repurpose an old smartphone or similar device as a Web camera. Scan QR code and you’ll see an image from your device in Prusa Connect within a few seconds.
Our open API will help you create your camera solution
Integrate and use your solution as a dedicated Prusa Connect cameras. We have prepared documentation for our open API Token authentication. You can still use your existing camera solutions. If you publish your solution (e.g. Let us know if you publish your solution (e.g.

Prusa Connect (also known as PrusaLink) and OctoPrint
All printers that support Prusa Connect are connected to Prusa Connect using the PrusaLink System. This system provides a simple interface accessible from your local network. Prusa Connect can be used with the latest printers such as MINI/MINI+ MK4 or XL. No need for additional devicesAs they are already pre-installed with the native PrusaLink, you can use them. For older printers, such as the MK3/MK2.5 models, you’ll need to use a Raspberry Pi computer that has an installed PrusaLink.
Interface of PrusaLink – local network solution
It does not necessarily mean that you need to use PrusaLink and Prusa Connect in order to be able control any of our Printers. Our printers OctoPrint is still supported. We will continue to improve OctoPrint support in future firmware updates. The final decision about what software to use is up to you. Always be up for you! 😉
For using PrusaLink on MK3/MK2.5 printers, you can use either a Raspberry Pi Zero, connected to each printer’s mainboard via pins, or a more powerful version, e.g. Install PrusaLink on RPi4/5 Multi-instance: Connect multiple printers to one Raspberry Pi!Both the Raspberry Pi ZeroThen, there is the Raspberry Pi 4Our e-shop offers a wide range of products.
Registering for PrusaConnect is as simple as creating a new PrusaAccount or using your existing PrusaAccount. This account can also be used to login to other Prusa services, such our e-shop and Printables.com. Add a new printer to Prusa Connect and you’re ready to print. To link your Prusa Connect printer with PrusaSlicer, you have to copy the API key from your printer’s settings to your Physical Printer in PrusaSlicer.
The API key can be used to link your printer with PrusaSlicer in PrusaConnect.
PrusaSlicer is able to help you in many other ways. If you want to connect the MINI/MINI+ printer, MK4 printer, or XL Printer to the network using ethernet, you can simply plug in the cable. However, if you want to configure the Wi-Fi connection, you’ll need to insert the correct credentials into the configuration file on the USB flash drive. PrusaSlicer is able to do it all for you. Just plug the USB flash drive into your computer – PrusaSlicer detects it and asks you to insert your Wi-Fi credentials. After that, you’ll just plug your USB flash drive back into the printer and complete the configuration process.
PrusaSlicer will help you connect your printer wirelessly
